Jets Interested In Re-Signing WR Robby Anderson

Jets WR Robby Anderson, who is in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, says the team has made it clear that they want to re-sign him.

“I know they’ve communicated that they do want me back,” Anderson said, via Newsday.com. “So, we’ve just got to see how it plays out.

“I don’t think they’ve gotten to numbers, but I know obviously they want to be at the table, and I think they’re planning to be at the table to keep me in-house.”

Anderson explained that he simply wants to be in the best situation.

“I want to be where I feel like the best situation for me to be great is, to be the person I can be outside of football,” Anderson said.

When asked if that’s the Jets, Anderson said: “I would hope so. Just got to see what comes available, what’s out there.

Anderson had come up as a potential trade candidate the past two seasons, but the Jets ultimately elected to hold on to him. Now he’s in line to be one of the best available receivers this offseason and should be able to secure a sizable contract.

Anderson, 26, signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in 2016. He played out his three-year rookie contract and re-signed to a one-year, $3.095 million deal as a restricted free agent.

Anderson is in line to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career in 2020.

In 2019, Anderson appeared in 16 games and recorded 52 receptions for 779 yards receiving (15 YPC) and five touchdowns.

We have him included in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.
