Jets Interviewing Eagles Exec. Joe Douglas For GM Job This Weekend

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reports that the Jets are scheduled to interview Eagles VP of players personnel Joe Douglas this weekend.

Douglas has been considered the favorite to be hired by the Jets for a few months now, given that he’s a widely respected executive around the NFL and has ties to HC Adam Gase.

Other candidates for the Jets’ job include:

  • Saints director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot
  • Seahawks co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer
  • Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly
  • Vikings assistant GM George Paton

Douglas began working for the Ravens in their personnel department in 2000 and spent 15 years with the organization.

The Bears hired him as their director of college scouting for the 2015 season.

Douglas spent one year in Chicago before joining the Eagles as their vice president of player personnel the following year.

We’ll have more regarding the Jets’ GM search as the news is available.
