Jets OLB Quinton Coples To Be Sidelined 3-4 Weeks With Fractured Ankle

Jane McManus of ESPN New York reports that Jets OLB Quinton Coples could be sidelined for 3-4 weeks after he suffered a fractured ankle during Saturday’s preseason game against the Jaguars.

The good news for Coples is that the injury will not require any type of surgery.

Having intended to swat a pass, Coples landed awkwardly and was forced to leave the game during the second quarter.  While Coples was able to walk back and forth on the sidelines and into the locker rooms, the Jets first round pick in 2012 was reported to have left MetLife Stadium in a golf cart.

During his absence, Antwan Barnes is expected to substitute for him heading into the regular season start.
