Adam Schefter reports that the Jets have placed veteran C Ryan Kalil on injured reserve and signed OL Leo Koloamatangi in a corresponding move.
Kalil, 34, is a former second-round pick by the Panthers in the 2007 NFL Draft. He re-signed with Carolina to a five-year extension following the 2011 season and signed another two-year deal through 2018.
After declaring his retirement in December of last year, Kalil decided to enter the open market as a free agent and signed a one-year, $8.4 million deal with the Jets in August.
In 2019, Kalil appeared in seven games for the Jets. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 overall center out of 36 qualifying players.
