Brian Costello reports that the Jets are placing RBย Isaiah Crowell on season-ending injured reserve on Friday and promoting RB De’Angelo Henderson to their active roster.
Crowell, 25, originally joined the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama State back in 2014. He played out his rookie contract and re-signed with the team as a restricted free agent last year.
Crowell departed in free agency this past March for a three-year, $12 million contract that included $6 million guaranteed with the Jets.
In 2018, Crowell appeared in 13 games for the Jets and rushed for 685 yards on 143 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 21 receptions for 152 yards receiving and six total touchdowns.
Henderson, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2017. He was in the second year of hisย four-year, $2,545,164 contract when the Broncos waived him coming out of the preseason.
Henderson has been on and off of the Jets’ practice squad this year.
In 2017, Henderson appeared in five games for the Broncos and rushed for 13 yards on seven carries to go along with two receptions for 36 yards receiving and one touchdown.
