According to Brian Costello, the Jets are placing fourth-round RB La’Mical Perine on the COVID-19 list following a positive test.
The Jets are also doing contact tracing to see if there are other high-risk contacts who will need to go on the list. Perine is the first Jets player to test positive this season.
Perine, 22, was selected by the Jets with the No. 120 pick in the fourth round out of Florida in 2020. He signed a four-year, $4,040,344 rookie contract that included a $745,344 signing bonus.
In 2020, Perine has appeared in 10 games for the Jets and rushed for 232 yards on 64 carries (3.6 YPC) with two touchdowns to go along with 11 receptions for 63 yards.
During his four-year college career, Perine recorded 493 rushing attempts for 2,485 yards (5.0 YPC) and 22 touchdowns to go along with 72 receptions for 674 yards receiving (9.4 YPC) and eight touchdowns.
