Pennel, 26, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out ofย Colorado State-Pueblo back in 2014. He was waived towards the end of 2016 and was later claimed off of waivers by the Jets.
New York declined to tender Pennel a contract last year but brought him back on a one-year contract soon after.
In 2017, Pennel appeared in all 16 games for the Jets and recorded 35 tackles and no sacks.
