Jets S Jamal Adams says he and the team have engaged in small discussions about a contract extension this offseason.
Adams said they haven’t gotten into much detail but he fully expects to sign a long-term deal with New York this offseason.
Just to clear this up… weโve had small discussions thus far, not in detailed talks yet, just talked about it. With that being said, I fully expect to be extended this offseason. I want to be in New York! https://t.co/ecJGxIiofG

Adams was upset with the team after his name came up in trade discussions at this past year’s deadline, but he appears to have mended fences with the team judging by his comments.
Adams, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Jets back in 2017. He just finished the third year of his four-year contract worth $22,256,084, which includes a signing bonus of $14,326,244.
The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.
In 2019, Adams appeared in 14 games for the Jets and recorded 75 tackles, 6.5 sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, one recovery, two defensive touchdowns and seven pass defenses.
We’ll have more on Adams as the news is available.
