Jets Sign RB Joel Bouagnon & LB Jonathan Celestin To P-Squad, Cut S Tyvis Powell

The New York Jets announced Tuesday that they’ve signed RB Joel Bouagnon and LB Jonathan Celestin to their practice squad and released S Tyvis Powell from the unit.

Bouagnon, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois back in 2017. The Bears waived him with an injury designation during the and he later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list before he was eventually cut loose with an injury settlement.

The Packers signed Bouagnon to a futures contract with past January only to waive him coming out of the preseason. He had a brief stint on the Lions’ practice squad a few months ago.

During his college career, Bouagnon rushed for 2,912 yards on 600 carries (4.9 YPC) to go along with 44 receptions for 368 yards receiving and 34 total touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 43 games.
