The New York Jets announced Sunday that they’ve signed third-round OLB Jachai Polite to a four-year deal.
The Jets have now signed all but two of their 2019 draft picks including:
Pick | Round | Player | Pos. | College | Note |
3. | 1. | Quinnen Williams | DL | Alabama
68. | 3. | Jachai Polite | OLB | Florida | Signed |
92. | 3. | Chuma Edoga | OT | USC
121. | 4. | Trevon Wesco | TE | West Virginia | Signed |
157. | 5. | Blake Cashman | LB | Minnesota | Signed |
196. | 6. | Blessuan Austin | CB | Rutgers | Signed |
Polite, 21, was selected with the No. 68 overall pick in the third round by the Jets. He’s expected to sign a four-year, $4,218,191 contract that includes a $1,118,194 signing bonus.
Polite struggled during the pre-draft process, which led to him falling to the third round, even though he was considered to be one of the top edge rusher prospects last year.
During his three-year college career at Florida, Polite recorded 78 tackles, 15 sacks, eight forced fumbles, and four pass defenses.
