Jets Trade WR Derrick Mason To Houston

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the New York Jets have agreed to trade WR Derrick Mason to the Houston Texans in return for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2012.

The move is very interesting considering that the Jets benched Mason in favor of Jeremy Kerley. Several reports have mentioned that a number of the Jets receivers complained to Rex Ryan about offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer but the team wound up refuting the report.

Meanwhile the Houston Texans are obviously concerned about star WR Andre Johnson‘s injury as Mason will now join Jacoby Jones and Kevin Walter for the time being. There’s still plenty of questions regarding his ability but he could end up being a bridge to Johnson but I wouldn’t bet on it.
