Jets Waive LB Randell Johnson

The New York Jets announced Friday that they’ve placed LB Randell Johnson on waivers.

Johnson, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bills back in 2014. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2,283,732 rookie contract when Buffalo cut him loose last year with an injury designation coming out of the preseason. and he later reverted to their injured reserve list. Buffalo released him from injured reserve a few weeks later.

Johnson later reverted to their injured reserve list but was released him from injured reserve a few weeks later. The Rams signed him to their practice squad before the Jets eventually added him to their active roster towards the end of the season.

In 2015, Johnson appeared in 10 games for the Bills and recorded six tackles and a fumble recovery. Last year, he was limited to appearing in just one game.
