Mauldin, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Jets back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $3,008,016 contract and stands to make a base salary of $723,000 for the 2018 season.

Mauldin was arrested last summer for misdemeanor assault for an alleged attack that occurred at New York nightclub. Mauldin allegedly punched a man in the face during an altercation after the man spilled champagne on Mauldin.

The victim later sued Mauldin but charges were eventually dropped.

Mauldin suffered a season-ending back injury last year that led to him being placed on injured reserve.

In 2016, Mauldin appeared in 11 games for the Jets and recorded 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks, an interception and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 82 edge defender out of 109 qualifying players.
