Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Jets worked out former Chargers WR Danario Alexander on Monday.
- Aaron Wilsonย reports that theย Jets also worked out WR Joe Anderson, TE Adrien Robinson, QB Philip Sims, and CB Cassius Vaughn.
This is the second tryout Alexander has had in the past two weeks after he met with the Bears.
Alexander is attempting aย comeback to the NFL and beingย out of the league since he suffered a tornย ACL back in the summer of 2013. He’s dealt with numerous knee injuries, but had displayed solid ability when healthy.
If he were to get another shot, it seems likely that he would sign a future/reserve contract and compete for a roster next summer.
In 2012,ย Alexander caughtย 37 receptions for 658 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of 10 games.
Vaughn, 28, originally signed on with the Broncos as anย undrafted free agent out ofย Mississippi back in 2010. He spent two years in Denver before later being traded to the Colts in return forย Chris Gronkowski.
Vaughn played two seasons for the Colts before later joining the Lions as an unrestricted free agent in April of last year. The Ravens wound up signing him to a contract shortly after this year’s draft, but he’s been on and off of their active roster ever since.
This season, Vaughn has been active forย oneย game, but has yet to record a single statistic.
