Jets Worked Out 5 Players Including WR Danario Alexander & CB Cassius Vaughn

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Jets worked out former Chargers WR Danario Alexander on Monday.

This is the second tryout Alexander has had in the past two weeks after he met with the Bears.

Alexander is attempting a comeback to the NFL and being out of the league since he suffered a torn ACL back in the summer of 2013. He’s dealt with numerous knee injuries, but had displayed solid ability when healthy.

If he were to get another shot, it seems likely that he would sign a future/reserve contract and compete for a roster next summer.

In 2012, Alexander caught 37 receptions for 658 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of 10 games.

Vaughn, 28, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in 2010. He spent two years in Denver before later being traded to the Colts in return for Chris Gronkowski.

Vaughn played two seasons for the Colts before later joining the Lions as an unrestricted free agent in April of last year. The Ravens wound up signing him to a contract shortly after this year’s draft, but he’s been on and off of their active roster ever since.

This season, Vaughn has been active for one game, but has yet to record a single statistic.
