Jets Worked Out RB Tion Green

Rich Cimini of ESPN reports that the Jets brought in a third running back for a workout Saturday in Tion Green.

The Jets also hosted Orleans Darkwa (NFLTR) and Alfred Morris (NFLTR).

New York is in the market for running back help after Elijah McGuire suffered a fracture in his foot during practice that is going to require surgery and will force him to miss an extended period of time.

Green, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati last year. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was set to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement when the Lions waived him this past May.

In 2017, Green appeared in five games for the Lions and rushed for 165 yards on 42 carries (3.9 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 14 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
