Jets Working Out QB Josh Johnson

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Jets are bringing in veteran QB Josh Johnson for a workout on Thursday.

The Jets recently signed QB Matt Flynn to a contract, so this news would imply that theyโ€™re not sold on him being their backup.

Last night, Garafolo mentioned that the Browns had some interest in Johnson, which further implies that he may have a new job sooner than later.

Johnson, 29, was recently cut loose by the Bengals, and is among the best available quarterback options.

The Bengals signed Johnson to a contract back in April, but they ultimately elected to move forward with A.J. McCarron as their backup quarterback.

Johnson hasnโ€™t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season while playing for the Bengals.
