ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that veteran WRย Jordy Nelson plans to continue his NFL career following his release from the Packers on Tuesday.
Nelson can begin meeting with teams right away and it’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
Nelson, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Packers back in 2008. He was entering the final year of his five-year, $43 million contract and set to make a base salary of $9.25 million for the 2018 season when the Packers released him in a move that freed upย $10,218,750 of available cap space.
In 2017, Nelson appeared in 15 games for the Packers and caught 53 passes for 482 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
