The Detroit Lions announced Saturday that they’ve activated DE Trey Flowers from the PUP list and placed WR Jermaine Kearse and DT Darius Kilgo on injured reserve.
- Lions signed QB Josh Johnson and RB Justin Stockton to contracts.
- Lions waived CB Tarvarus McFadden.
Flowers, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,838,932 contract with the Patriots in 2018.
In March, Flowers signed a five-year, $90 million contract with the Lions.
In 2018, Flowers appeared 15 games for the Patriots and recorded 32 tackles, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 6 edge rusher out of 103 qualifying players.
Kearse, 29, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in 2012. He spent his rookie season on and off of the Seahawks’ practice squad before making the 53-man roster the following year.
The Seahawks re-signed Kearse to a three-year, $13.5 million contract in 2016. In 2017, the Seahawks traded Kearse to the Jets as a part of the deal for DT Sheldon Richardson.
The Lions signed Kearse to a one-year contract worth $1.35 million in June.
In 2018, Kearse played in 14 games for the Jets and recorded 37 receptions for 371 yards receiving (10.0 YPC) and one touchdown.
