Detroit Lions first-round pick OT Riley Reiff is not expected to see any time at guard during this weekend’s rookie minicamp, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
Instead, Lions offensive line coach George Yarno mentioned that he expects to have Reiff line up at left and right tackle this weekend. Yarno adds that he doesn’t foresee any issues between Reiff and long time vet Jeff Backus, who he expects to mentor Reiff during the process.
Reiff is obviously their long-term solution at tackle, but he’ll almost certainly need some time to get comfortable with the team’s offense.
