Lions Hosted Veteran DL Ricky Jean Francois For Visit

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Lions hosted free agent DL Ricky Jean Francois for a visit on Thursday.

Francois, 31, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2009. He played four seasons for San Francisco before departing and signing on with the Colts as an unrestricted free agent.

After two years, the Colts cut Jean-Francois loose and he signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the Redskins in February of 2015. Washington released him during the offseason and he later signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Packers.

Jean-Francois was on and off of the Packers’ roster last year before the Patriots signed him to a contract towards the end of the season.

In 2017, Jean Francois appeared in 12 games for the Packers and Patriots and recorded 12 tackles and no sacks.
