According to Justin Rogers, the Lions placed G Joe Dahl on injured reserve on Saturday, signed G Kenny Wiggins to their active roster, and promoted DT Kevin Strong and CB Dee Virgin from their practice squad.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding the injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Dahl, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Lions back in 2016. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.586 million rookie contract when Detroit re-signed him to a two-year extension back in August of last year.
He also landed on injured reserve back in December and finished 2019 on IR.
In 2019, Dahl appeared in 13 games and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 26 overall guard out of 80 qualifying players.
