According to Kyle Meinke, the Lions placed LB Jarrad Davis and G Joe Dahl on season-ending injured reserve and promoted RB Wes Hills and OT Dan Skipper from their practice squad to fill their roster spots.
Davis, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Lions back in 2017. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $10.96 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $1.46 million and $1.96 million over the next two years.
The Lions have a fifth-year option to pick up on Davis for the 2021 season.
In 2019, Davis appeared in 11 games and recorded 63 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 84 overall linebacker 87 players.
Dahl, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Lions back in 2016. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.586 million rookie contract when Detroit re-signed him to a two-year extension back in August.
In 2019, Dahl appeared in 13 games and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 26 overall guard out of 80 qualifying players.
