Lions Placing WR Marvin Jones On IR, Promoting LB Nicholas Grigsby


Lions HC Matt Patricia announced Monday that they’re Lions are placing WR Marvin Jones on injured reserve and promoting LB Nicholas Grigsby to their active roster.

Jones, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract before signing a five-year, $40 million contract that includes $20 million guaranteed with the Lions in 2016.

Jones stands to make base salaries of $7 million and $6.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Jones appeared in nine games for the Lions and caught 35 passes for 508 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
