Lions Promote CB Dee Virgin & WR Chris Lacy To Active Roster

Update:

The Detroit Lions have promoted CB Dee Virgin and WR Chris Lacy to their active roster, per Tim Twentyman.

Virgin, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of West Alabama back in May of last year. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Texans waived him as they cut their roster down to 53 players.

Virgin later signed on to the Texans practice squad and returned to Houston on a futures contract this past January. However, he was waived coming out of the preseason and was later claimed by the Lions.

Detroit elected to waive him in October but decided to quickly sign him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers.

In 2018, Virgin has appeared in three games for the Lions and recorded one tackle and no interceptions for pass defenses.

The Detroit Lions are promoting WR Chris Lacy to their active roster on Saturday, according to his agent.

Lacy, 22, wound up signing on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State following this year’s draft. New England waived Lacy a few weeks later and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Lions.

Detroit waived Lacy coming out of the preseason and later added him to their practice squad after clearing waivers.

During his four-year college career at Oklahoma State, Lacy caught 63 passes for 920 yards receiving and five touchdowns over the course of 32 games. He also totaled 97 kick return yards.
