Lions Releasing CB DeShawn Shead

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Lions are releasing CB DeShawn Shead on Saturday as they work to get down to the 53-man limit.

Other reported roster cuts for the Lions include:

  12. RB Dwayne Washington
  13. C Wes Johnson
  14. QB Jake Rudock
  15. WR Jace Billingsley
  16. CB Mike Ford
  17. CB DeShawn Shead

Shead, 28, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Portland State back in 2012. He returned to the Seahawks on a one-year exclusive rights contract for the 2016 season.

Last year, Seattle declined to tender him a contract as a restricted free agent but later brought him back on a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Shead signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Lions this past March.

In 2017, Shead appeared in two games for the Seahawks and recorded two tackles and no interceptions or pass defenses.
