Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Detroit Lions have officially requested permission to interview 49ers DC Robert Saleh, Saints assistant HC/TE coach Dan Campbell, Titans OC Arthur Smith, and Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy for their head-coaching vacancy.
Here’s a list of candidates linked to the Lions’ head-coaching job:

- Former Bengals coach Marvin Lewis (Interviewed)
- Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy (Requested)
- Saints assistant HC/TEs coach Dan Campbell (Requested)

- 49ers DC Robert Saleh (Interview scheduled)
- Northwestern HC Pat Fitzgerald
Saleh, 41, began his NFL coaching career with the Texans in 2005 as a defensive intern. He eventually worked his way up to assistant linebackers coach before he took over as the Seahawks defensive quality control coach in 2011.
The Jaguars later hired Saleh as their linebackers coach where he remained for three seasons. The 49ers hired him as their defensive coordinator in 2017.
Bieniemy, 51, played 10 seasons in the NFL for the Chargers, Bengals and Eagles before retiring in 1999. His NFL coaching career began in 2006 when he took over as the Vikings’ RBs coach.
The Chiefs hired him for the same position in 2013 and he was later promoted to offensive coordinator.
