Lions Sign QB Tom Savage

According to Tim Twentyman, the Lions have signed QB Tom Savage to a contract on Tuesday.

The Lions announced that they have officially signed him:

Savage, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Texans back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.52 million contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

The Saints signed Savage to a one-year, $1.5 million deal, but was released coming out of the last preseason. The 49ers signed him to a contract and bounced on and off of their active roster until being claimed by the Bengals in November, where he finished out the season.

In 2017, Savage appeared in eight games and completed 56.1 percent of his passes for 1412 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions. The Texans placed him on injured reserve after he suffered a scary concussion.
