Pro Football Talk reports that the Lions agreed to terms with former Buccaneers DT Akeem Spence on a three-year, $10.5 million contract.
Meanwhile, Adam Caplan reports that the Lions are expected to sign former Bears DE Cornelius Washington to a two-year, $6 million contract worth a maximum of $8 million.
Spence, 25,ย is a former sixth-round pick by the Buccaneers back in 2013.ย Heย finished his four-year, $2,644,424 rookie contract with Tampa Bay to become an unrestricted free agent.
In 2016, Spence appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 19 total tackles and 0.5 sack. Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 124 overall interior defensive lineman out of 127 qualifying players.
Washington, 27, is a former sixth-round pick by the Bears in the 2013 NFL Draft. He also finished his four-year rookie contract to become an unrestricted free agent.
In 2016, Washington appeared in 15 games for Chicago and recorded 20 total tackles, two sacks, and one pass defense. Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 54 overall defensive lineman out of 127 qualifying players.
