Lions Worked Out WR Tyler Murphy

Aaron Wilson is reporting that the Lions brought in WR Tyler Murphy for a workout on Friday.

Murphy, 24, signed on with the Steelers back in as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College. Heโ€™s in the first year of his four-year, $1.579 million rookie contract included a $4,500 signing bonus.

Murphy was waived a month into the season to make room for RB Leโ€™Veon Bell, who has been reinstated from his suspension. After that, Murphy was on and off of the Steelersโ€™ practice squad.

The Dolphins elected to sign Murphy to a future/reserve contract in January, but waived him with an injury designation back in April to make room for LB Danny Lansanah. Miami later cut him loose from injured reserve with a settlement.

In 2015, Murphy appeared in two games and caught one pass for 16 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
