The Detroit Lions officially placed WRย Corey Washington on their injured reserve list Monday after he cleared waivers.

  • The Lions also signed DB Keith Lewis to a contract and placedย WR Austin Willis on waivers.

Washington, 24, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Newberry back in May of 2014. He lasted just a few weeks with the Cardinals before he was waived and later claimed by the Giants.

New York later waived him with an injury settlement coming out of the preseason.

After a brief stint with the Redskins, the Lions signed him to a future/reserve contract after the 2015 season.

In 2014, Washington appeared in 14 games for the Giants and caught five passes for 52 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Lewis, 27, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia-Lynchburg back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in Tampa Bay before signing a future/reserve contract after the season.

The Chiefs elected to sign him to a future/reserve contract back in January, but he was just recently placed on waivers.

Lewis has yet to appear in an NFL game.
