ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Logan Mankins has made the decision to sign his tender and will join the New England Patriots this week. Mankins could be ready to play as soon as this Sunday.
It became apparent that Mankins would inevitably re-sign with the Patriots after no team offered enough of package to tempt the Patriots into trading him. The decision to rejoin the Patriots has more to do with the fact that the CBA agreement would have made Mankins a restricted free agent. Now that he has joined the team, he will become and unrestricted free agent at the end of the year and has earned the right to test the market.
