ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Eagles senior offensive consultant Marty Mornhinweg and senior offensive assistant Rich Scangarello will not return to the team in 2021. Both are on expiring contracts, so they simply will not be renewed.
Last week, reports surfaced that Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz will not return in 2021, so there will be a good deal of turnover for Doug Pederson’s staff in the coming months.
Mornhinweg, 58, began his NFL coaching career with the Packers as an offensive assistant back in 1995. Since then, he’s worked for the 49ers, Lions, Eagles and Jets before the Ravens hired him as their QBs coach in 2015.
Baltimore promoted Mornhinweg to offensive coordinator in 2016. He joined the Ealges last March as an offensive consultant.
Under Mornhinweg, the Ravens’ offense was No. 9 in total yards, No. 13 in points scored, No. 2 in rushing offense and No. 22 in passing offense in 2018.
