Update:
Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys are also meeting with HC Marvin Lewis on Saturday along with Mike McCarthy.
Ian Rapoport reports that former Bengals HC Marvin Lewis is also drawing interest from the Cowboys regarding their head-coaching job that is expected to be available once they officially part ways with Jason Garrett.
Dallas is scheduled to meet with former Packers HC Mike McCarthy next week.
Tom Pelissero reports that the Cowboys’ search is focused for now on people with prior head-coaching experience, which is why McCarthy and Lewis have come up.
Lewis reportedly had some interest from the Redskins before Washington locked on to Ron Rivera as their next head coach.
Lewis, 61, was hired as the Bengalsโ head coach back in 2003 and spent 14 seasons with the team before being fired after the 2018 season.
Lewis did not actively pursue another NFL head coaching job after the Bengals let him go following the 2018 season, preferring to take a step back from football. He landed with Arizona State in a special advisor role to HC Herm Edwards and has been in that position this year.
In total, the Bengals compiled a 131-122-3 (51.8 percent) record under Lewis, including seven trips to the postseason but no playoff wins.
