Matt McGloin Will Remain The Raiders Starting QB In Week 16

Following Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Raiders HC Dennis Allen announced thatĀ Matt McGloin will remain the team’s starting quarterback, via CSN Bay Area.

McGloin played the worst game of his brief NFL career on Sunday. He completedĀ 18-of-36 (50.0 percent) for 297 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions against a solid Chiefs’ defense.

Terrelle Pryor saw only a couple plays, despiteĀ McGloin’s struggles, which is somewhat surprising given that Pryor had shown some promise earlier this season. Oakland has apparently seen enough of Pryor this season and would prefer to see whatĀ McGloin can do in their final two games of the season.

As of now, the Raiders would have the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 draft, so it seems likely that GM Reggie McKenzie will be targeting a quarterback. The Raiders will finish the season against the Chargers and Broncos. Ā
