According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Lions QB Matthew Stafford‘s status for Week 15 is in doubt for their game against the Titans.
Stafford has yet to be ruled out for the game, but Rapoport says Stafford was in “a ton of pain” following Sunday’s loss to the Packers due to the rib injury he sustained.
Should Stafford miss the game, Chase Daniel would get the start against Tennessee.
Earlier in the day, Rapoport reported that Stafford suffered a rib injury that the team hasn’t been able to pin down an exact diagnosis for yet.
Stafford, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Lions back in 2009. He was in the final year of his five-year, $76.5 million contract when he and the Lions agreed to a five-year, $135 million extension back in 2017.
Stafford stands to make base salaries of $15 million and $9.5 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2020, Stafford has appeared in 13 games for the Lions and completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 3,522 yards, 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He has also 91 rushing yards.
