Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy practiced on Tuesday, perย Philadelphia Inquirer
————
The Philadelphia Eagles have announced thatย QB Michael Vick, RB LeSean McCoyย were not able to practice on Tuesday and TE Brent Celek and DT Mike Patterson will all be held out of Thursday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Given that the 2012 season is all but lost for the Eagles, it makes sense that they wouldn’t rush these guys back in a short week. Vick and McCoy appear to be close to returning to the practice field, but it seems unlikely that Vick will see any action for theย remainderย of the season, barring an injury to Nick Foles.ย McCoy should be back in the mix before the season’s over.

Tim McManus ofย Philly Mag: Birds 24/7ย updates the situation surroundingย Michael Vickย andย LeSean McCoyย by mentioning that an Eaglesย spokesman said that neither player has been cleared by an independentย neurologist.
There’s a chance that they could be cleared by tomorrow but, until this happens, both players do not have a shot to return to the practice field.
————-
Jeff McLaneย reports that bothย Michael Vick andย LeSean McCoy have passed their concussion tests and are medically cleared to return to the practice field.
Vick is not expected to play in this week’s matchup against the Bengals, but he could be back on the field as early as tomorrow. The Eagles have said that they plan on keepingย Nick Foles in place as their starter for the rest of the season, so it will be interesting to see if that ends up being the case.
As for McCoy, he stands a chance of being available for Thursday night’s game, but we’ll have to see how he holds up in the coming days before we have a reasonable idea of his availability. Head coach Andy Reid has indicated that he expects Bryce Brown to have some role in their offense even with McCoy back.
