Mike Martz Done In Chicago

The Bears front office cleaning continues as Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune reports that Bears OC Mike Martz  has resigned due to “philosophical differences“.

As for Martz, the two sides were discussing a possible extension early on in the season but talks broke down as the Bears weren’t willing to meet Martz’s long-term requirements. The problem for Chicago is that they will have to implement a new system for next season which means that it will be hard to build on this years progress.

There were some reports a few weeks ago that Martz was considering taking a head coaching position with Arizona State so he may choose to take a job in the collegiate ranks.

Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune reports that the team will also relieve quarterbacks coach Shane Day.
