Giants

  • Giants HC Pat Shurmur said they’re still evaluating supplemental CB Sam Beal’s shoulder. According to Shurmur, they knew there were some issues with his shoulder and it’s possible this injury could cost him the season. (Dan Duggan)
  • Regarding fifth-round DL R.J. McIntosh is going through a medical issue, but the Giants hope to get him back at practice soon. (Matt Lombardo)
  • New Giants OLB Connor Barwin said he signed with New York because of his familiarity with LBs coach Bill McGovern, Pat Shurmur, and comfort in a 3-4 scheme. (Matt Lombardo)
  • Giants OLB/DE Avery Moss had surgery for a labral tear in his hip diagnosed late last season, but he has returned to practice. (Pat Leonard)
  • As for Giants GM Dave Gettleman and his cancer battle, Mara said: “Dave (Gettleman) is doing great. He was in the office yesterday. He’s doing well. I don’t think I’ve ever been around a more upbeat guy.”
