NFC East Notes: Eagles, Redskins, Joe Flacco

Eagles

  • Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com takes a look at three AAF players who could be of interest to the Eagles this offseason.
  • Kempski’s list includes Iron QB Luis Perez, Iron DB Jamar Summers, and Fleet RB Ja’Quan Gardner

Redskins

Redskins GM Doug Williams said they need to find someone to “mix in” at quarterback this offseason, given that Alex Smith is likely to sit out the year.

“It’s our job in the personnel department to find somebody who can play,” Williams said, via Sirius XM NFL Radio. “Thank God we have Colt coming back from an injury. We just gotta find somebody to mix in there and we know we gotta have that guy, but we gotta build around whoever it is. I think that’s the most important thing.

Joe Flacco

  • Reports have said that the Redskins checked in on QB Joe Flacco before he was traded to the Broncos.
  • John Keim notes that Adam Schefter previously mentioned that Washington had discussed trading for Flacco. However, the Redskins cap situation caused those talks to end quickly.
  • Keim adds that the Redskins likely would be in a few quarterbacks if they weren’t in such a tough cap situation, but he “highly doubts” Washington was a serious bidder for Flacco.
