NFC North Notes: Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings

Former Lions GM Martin Mayhew was able to turn around Detroit from the literal rock bottom at 0-16 back into playoff contention. But he wasn’t able to get Detroit to the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history during his tenure. Now with the 49ers in the Super Bowl as a member of their front office, he has one big regret from his time with the Lions that he thinks could have made a difference

“I wish I would have taken Aaron Donald (instead of TE Eric Ebron),” Mayhew said via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. “That’s no knock on Ebron. I wish I would have taken him. It’s not a decision that’s made in a vacuum. We talked about a lot of different scenarios, different situations. Man, I wish I had taken him.”
