NFC North Notes: Bears, Packers, Vikings

Bears

The Bears may have found another late-round defensive contributor in sixth-round CB Duke Shelley. The rookie has built off a strong spring so far in the early goings of camp and is making a case for playing time at nickel corner.

โ€œHeโ€™s physical,โ€ HC Matt Nagy said via the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs. โ€œHe has ball skills. Itโ€™s what we saw on tape. He has great energy and heโ€™s smart. He can play inside, he can play outside, heโ€™s done some things for us that have been good. But itโ€™s still early in camp. Hopefully we can see more in the preseason.โ€

Packers

  • Per the Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Packers K Mason Crosby has been officially cleared to practice and won’t need to be eased back in.
  • Packers HC Matt LaFleur said the team would know more in a few days about the extent of CB Kevin King‘s injury. (Rob Demovsky)
  • LaFleur added this doesn’t necessarily have to do with a 2018 hamstring injury that ended King‘s 2018 season.
