NFC North Notes: Bears, Packers, Vikings

Bears

The Bears may have found another late-round defensive contributor in sixth-round CB Duke Shelley. The rookie has built off a strong spring so far in the early goings of camp and is making a case for playing time at nickel corner.

“He’s physical,” HC Matt Nagy said via the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs. “He has ball skills. It’s what we saw on tape. He has great energy and he’s smart. He can play inside, he can play outside, he’s done some things for us that have been good. But it’s still early in camp. Hopefully we can see more in the preseason.”

Packers

  • Per the Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Packers K Mason Crosby has been officially cleared to practice and won’t need to be eased back in.
  • Packers HC Matt LaFleur said the team would know more in a few days about the extent of CB Kevin King‘s injury. (Rob Demovsky)
  • LaFleur added this doesn’t necessarily have to do with a 2018 hamstring injury that ended King‘s 2018 season.
