NFC North Notes: Lions, Packers, Vikings

Lions

Lions CB Teez Tabor is still sidelined with a leg injury and it’s to the point where there’s at least some question about whether he’ll make the 53-man roster this year. 

“These things are weird,” Tabor said, via the Detroit Free Press. “They’re weird. I feel good, then I just — I can’t — it’s weird. It’s super weird. So I’m waiting for it to not be weird no more.”

Packers

• Ian Rapoport reports that Packers WR Equanimeous St. Brown suffered a high-ankle sprain during Thursday’s preseason game in Canada.
• According to Rapoport, X-Rays were negative and the MRI indicated a high-ankle sprain that will likely cost St. Brown 4-6 weeks.
• This is actually good news for the Packers and St. Brown, as it appeared as though this injury could be a season-ending issue. 

Vikings

Vikings QB Kirk Cousins was asked if it’s frustrating that people continue to point out certain aspects of his game that he can’t do. 

“Saying what you can or can’t do is, let’s be honest … I mean, I guess I don’t mind it if it’s true,” Cousins tells Terez A. Paylor of Yahoo Sports. “People say, ‘Aw, you know, he’s not Aaron Rodgers or he’s not Patrick Mahomes,’ and I probably say, ‘Well, I don’t disagree, you know? I’m probably not.’ I don’t think that I’ve done the things on tape that they’ve done.

“I guess what may get frustrating is when they say things that aren’t true.”

“I’m not gonna go on tooting my own horn, but you can go back and watch the tape — they’re there,” Cousins explained. “But at the end of the day people have gotta watch the tape and decide for themselves what they think, and I’m not gonna change their opinion. The eye in the sky don’t lie; you’ve got to put it on tape and let people make their decisions from there.”

• Vikings GM Rick Spielman was asked if thinks there will be another fully-guaranteed deal after the one they signed Cousins to last year: “That was such a unique situation; when does a guy like that get on the open market at that age? Never happens, so basically you’re just jumping in the bidding war because it’s a rarity.” (Terez A. Paylor)
