NFC Notes: 49ers, Buccaneers, Packers

49ers

  • According to Matt Maiocco, the preliminary disgnosis for LT Joe Staley leads theย 49ers to believe he did not sustain an ACL, but he’s still scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday.

Buccaneers

Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter said after Sunday’s loss to the Bears that everyone involved with the team should be fired includingย himself.

โ€œBasedย on that game today, we couldnโ€™t make enough changes,โ€ Koetter said, via Rick Stroud of theย Tampa Bay Times. “We should fire every person that was on that field today, starting with me. That was horrific.โ€

Packers

The Packers shut out the Bills on Sunday and came away with a 22-0 win. However, QB Aaron Rodgers told reporters after the game that there were “terrible on offense.”

We were a championship defensive-level and non-playoff team offensive-level today,” Rodgers said, via ESPN.com. “That was not great by any stretch of the imagination. We need to find ways to get our playmakers in position to get some more opportunities.”

Rodgers admitted that he’s happy to get the win, but there are clearly issues for them to sort out on offense.

“No, I’m happy. I’m excited to go home and have a scotch or two,” Rodgers said. “But I’m also a realist. That’s just not acceptable offense for us. Four hundred and twenty-three yards looks pretty good in comparison to some of the games we’ve put forward the first three weeks, but it should have been about 45 points and 600 yards.”
