NFC Notes: 49ers, Buccaneers, Packers

49ers

  • According to Matt Maiocco, the preliminary disgnosis for LT Joe Staley leads the 49ers to believe he did not sustain an ACL, but heโ€™s still scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday.

Buccaneers

Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter said after Sundayโ€™s loss to the Bears that everyone involved with the team should be fired including himself.

โ€œBased on that game today, we couldnโ€™t make enough changes,โ€ Koetter said, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. โ€œWe should fire every person that was on that field today, starting with me. That was horrific.โ€

Packers

The Packers shut out the Bills on Sunday and came away with a 22-0 win. However, QB Aaron Rodgers told reporters after the game that there were โ€œterrible on offense.โ€

โ€œWe were a championship defensive-level and non-playoff team offensive-level today,โ€ Rodgers said, via ESPN.com. โ€œThat was not great by any stretch of the imagination. We need to find ways to get our playmakers in position to get some more opportunities.โ€

Rodgers admitted that heโ€™s happy to get the win, but there are clearly issues for them to sort out on offense.

โ€œNo, Iโ€™m happy. Iโ€™m excited to go home and have a scotch or two,โ€ Rodgers said. โ€œBut Iโ€™m also a realist. Thatโ€™s just not acceptable offense for us. Four hundred and twenty-three yards looks pretty good in comparison to some of the games weโ€™ve put forward the first three weeks, but it should have been about 45 points and 600 yards.โ€
