NFC Notes: Buccaneers, Cowboys, Falcons, Packers, & Seahawks

Buccaneers

• Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers have signed OT Reid Fragel to their practice squad.
• Auman adds that Tampa Bay has  released OT Terren Jones from practice squad to make room for Fragel.

Cowboys

• According to Desmond Purnell of the NFL Network, the Cowboys are likely to start Joseph Randle at running back against the Giants.
• Purnell considers newly acquired RB Christine Michael to be a long shot to play for Cowboys in Week 1.

Falcons

• Adam Caplan notes that the Falcons will save $3 million in cash and $3 million in cap space after they released C Joe Hawley.
• Although, this move will create $1 million in dead money, according to Caplan.

Packers

• Packers S Micah Hyde (neck) and LT David Bakhtiari  (knee) both said they’re likely playing in Week 1’s matchup against the Bears. (Tom Silverstein)

Seahawks

• Fred Jackson said that signings with the Seahawks is “best thing that could have happened to me.” (Bob Condotta)
• Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said they’re ready to go with Dion Bailey as the starter in place of holdout S Kam Chancellor this week. (Curtis Crabtree)
