Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is one of many players and staff members who have already formed positive opinions on first-round S Caleb Downs, despite only being around him for a short time so far.

“True young pro. Super, super excited for him,” Prescott said of Downs, via the team website. “Young career, long career ahead of him. I could talk about him honestly all day. I’ve gotten a chance to spend some time with him here, golfed with him outside of the facility. He’s wired the right way. Super excited for him to be on that defense, to lead the defense, not just the defense this team. He’s a good example of that whole rookie class. They all follow his lead to that extent. Impressed, very impressed.”

Eagles

The Eagles finally made the A.J. Brown to New England trade official after a strong four-year run with the franchise that included a Super Bowl. Philadelphia QB Jalen Hurts reflected fondly on their time together but is ready to move forward with a new version of the offense.

“I’m not in the place to challenge anyone’s perspective on anything,” Hurts said, via Zach Berman of The Athletic. “Seemingly so, it was (Brown’s perspective), that’s where I am. I’ve always been focused on the collective. I’ve always put my energy toward that.”

“You come into it, and you have a sense of pride on how it began and definitely what we were able to accomplish. And the same I said last time, nothing can take that away. For the great things we did, now it’s time to focus on achieving great things with this new iteration of the team.”

Giants

Giants OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux has made early strides in building a relationship with new HC John Harbaugh.

“I think he’s a maniac, he’s obsessed. I love it,” Thibodeaux said of Harbaugh, via Giants Wire. “He’s so great at explaining things that, of course, he looks at a guy like me like, how could you ask so many questions, you know. But we always talk about like someone who questions, it’s not like they’re challenging, we just want to make sure we have the best understanding of how to execute at the highest level. I think, man, this is the best I’ve felt coming into a new year.“
