NFC Notes: Jordan Addison, Justin Fields, Bears, Packers, Vikings

Bears

  • Bears HC Matt Eberflus on QB Justin Fields: “He’s doubtful for this week. … Continues to progress, he’s just not there yet. Bagent will be our starter until that time he is cleared.” (Kevin Fishbain)
  • Eberflus expects that RB Roschon Johnson will clear concussion protocol, while S Jaquan Brisker has already done so. (Fishbain)

Packers

Packers HC Matt LaFleur assured reporters that the team still has confidence in QB Jordan Love despite a rocky start to the season.

“It all works in unison and, so, the better everybody is around him, the better he’s going to look,” LaFleur said, via Pro Football Talk. “Our confidence in him is not wavering one bit. Certainly, I think, as the play-caller you put a lot of onus on yourself when things aren’t going well. We’ll continue to do that, but we’ve got to find a way to generate more points because when you’re generating points, it’s just a totally different narrative.”

Vikings

Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell and QB Kirk Cousins talked about the big performance by rookie WR Jordan Addison.

“We ask him to do a lot, and he did a lot for us tonight in the game plan,” O’Connell said after the game, via NFL.com. “For him to make that play on that ball where it was, it was a game-changing play. Jordan’s been everything that I hoped for from the moment I put on the time from his time in college, but he’s been more than that. He’s been really taking on a role within our team, within our offense, and he’s earned an incredible amount of trust from Kirk and the rest of our guys, Jordan was fantastic tonight, and this is for sure a performance he can build on for the future.”

“Clearly, the way Jordan responded, he had a couple of tough catches in traffic … you can tell he made a decision that that’s not happening again, and it reflected in the way he played,” Cousins added.
