Bears
Bears CB Nahshon Wright had a career year in 2025, appearing in all 17 games as a starter for the first time, culminating in five interceptions and his first Pro Bowl selection. Wright said he wanted to prove himself last season and reassure himself that he’s capable of being in the NFL.
“For me, a lot of this was about being able to prove myself right,” Wright said, via Dan Wiederer of The Athletic. “With things falling the way they did, I wanted this season to be about reassuring myself that I belong in this league, that I can play.”
Wright was open to staying with the Bears, but wound up signing a one-year, $5.5 million deal with the Jets on Tuesday.
“I’m open-minded, for sure,” Wright said. “If the opportunity presented itself, I would be super excited to stay. But I’m excited for whatever is ahead.”
Wright reflected on his 74-yard interception return for a touchdown in Week 1 against the Vikings, his former team.
“Man,” Wright said. “You’re not going to forget that. I’m not going to say the Vikings didn’t believe in me. But they didn’t necessarily give me a shot.”
