Falcons
Last offseason, the Falcons made locking up LB Deion Jones one of their top priorities and ended up signing him to a four-year, $57 million deal. Jones didn’t give Atlanta any reason to regret that deal, recording 110 tackles, a pick-six and five pass defenses in 2019. Heading into 2020, Falcons LB coach Jeff Ulbrich is high on Jones’ potential for even more growth.
“Deion is a guy that I see has the potential to be the best middle linebacker in the NFL,” Ulbrich said this week, via the team’s official website. “I really do.”
“In this game that we play today, it’s all about matchups and athleticism, space and a lot of grass,” Ulbrich explained. “He’s custom made for that because he’s got so much speed and athleticism.
“At the same time, there are parts of his game that he’d acknowledge that he can take to the next level. I’m not going to say that he has huge glaring weaknesses, because I don’t think that’s the case, but I think that there is another place he can go in areas of his game that aren’t his strengths.”

Saints
- NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says Saints QB Drew Brees is not expected to push for a top-dollar deal when he re-signs with New Orleans.
- Rapoport adds Brees’ deal is expected to look a lot like his last contract and should allow the Saints some flexibility in free agency.
